A guide to celebrating Thanksgiving Eve in Center City and beyond

As one of the biggest social (read: bar) nights of the year, there are plenty of LGBT-friendly events happening in and out of town in time for Thanksgiving Eve. Before you tie one on, G Philly wanted to share the best of the bunch.

When Bruce Yelk’s Pink Pub Crawl has the guys wandering the Gayborhood in search of vodka specials (please see Matthew Izzo’s latest post on G Philly for details), the gals will want to hit up the Pre-Thanksgiving Girl Crawl starting at Stir (8:30 p.m.). By 10 p.m., the party moves to Tavern on Camac where the Ladies2000 land for a reunion of sorts, followed by Sisters by midnight for late-night dancing.

Sandy Beach celebrates his birthday tonight (no word on which one) at Venture Inn during Homo for the Holidays, a drag “birthgay” cabaret, as he calls it. The birthday girl will be sharing the spotlight with special guests DJ Dutch and Miss Pinklewinkle (11 p.m.).

12th Air Command hosts its Thanksgiving Eve Bash (9 p.m.) with meaty male dancers, karaoke and drink specials.

Sisters also celebrates with Wild Turkey Night hosted by Denise Cohen (8 p.m.). Expect drink specials, DJ Sandi Stabler on the decks, karaoke by Suzi Nash and dancing with DJ Steven Singer upstairs until last call.

Ladies have yet another place to call home tonight when Scene’s Thanksgiving Eve dance party gets started at Voyeur (9 p.m.) to benefit the Attic Youth Center. The party attracts women from the tri-state area for music, dancing and drinks until 3 a.m.

Hammonton, N.J., gets in on the fun with the Thanksgiving Eve Party Extravaganza (6 p.m.) at Club In or Out featuring drag queen Chi Chi Rodriguez and a slew of drink specials, DJs and live performances.

And in Atlantic City, things heat up at Let’s Get Stuffed at the Westside Bar & Lounge (10 p.m.) where male strippers and a free buffet ring in Turkey Lurky Day, Dorothy.
