What To Do This Weekend

Victor's picks: Grammy winners, Oscar winners, and Stephen Starr's meat

First, you need sustenance, and this weekend, everyone is going crazy for burgers, whether it’s David Ansill’s bone marrow burger at Ladder, burgers and shakes at the just-just-opened 500° (from the folks who brought you the Rouge burger), Stephen Starr’s Squareburger (opens 11 a.m. today for the season) in Franklin Square, or, of course, Five Guys. So pick one and dig in. Once nourished, grab one of the fabulous new cocktails at the Oyster House (and don’t miss their shucking contest on Saturday) or track down those tipsy blogging Penn gals intent on visiting every bar they can before graduation and buy them a shot. Just don’t overdo it, because you’ve got Martini Madness next week.

As for actual stuff to, you know, do, there’s plenty, and if you want to know all of my 39 picks for the weekend, read the Weekender. Otherwise, here’s the best of the best:

Grammy-winning Afropop diva Angelique Kidjo covers Marvin Gaye in an opera house; in a weekend filled with leading men (Ben Stiller, John Cusack, and Andy Garcia all have new movies hitting screens today), Brando steals the show in On The Waterfront; Mary Martello closes the hilarious Happily Ever After, Kathleen Turner (just extended!) and the Lion King hold down Broad, and Macbeth makes an appearance on Sansom; the Slinky is feted on the Delaware; and kids hunt for Easter eggs on newly cool Passyunk and among the dead, weather permitting.

Oh, and don’t miss out on your Lady Gaga and Tracy Morgan tickets, both of which go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m.
