If you haven't yet seen your share of freaks and ghouls this spooky season, point your broomstick toward Rittenhouse Square on Saturday for its annual Halloween festival. The ghostly carryings-on will feature costume contests for babies, kids, families and pets, judged by local celebrities. If you're not the competitive type, enjoy the free carnival with crafts, face painting, candy giveaways and tarot-card readings. Families can also get in some trick-or-treating practice in advance of the Big Night at participating Rittenhouse Row boutiques, restaurants, spas and galleries. Maps of the goodie path will be available at the square, and you can guarantee your spot in the costume competition by making reservations online at rittenhouserow.org. Free; starts at 10 a.m. on the 28th.
