"Jew-ish" LGBT Happy Hour

Spectrum Philly, an organization that works to connect LGBTQ Jewish folks in the region, is launching a new monthly happy hour. The first go-round is at U Bar, and the shindig will continue on the second Wednesday of every month. Wednesday, November 12th, 6:30 p.m., free, U Bar, 1220 Locust Street.

Standing On the Sun

The Bad Kids co-founders The Lady Poison (aka Machy Gerena) and Satine Harlow are teaming up for Standing In the Sun, a sure-to-be irreverent evening of drag and stellar performance that Gerena tells me veers far away from "the recycled stuff you see going on" around the Gayborhood. Look out for appearances by other Bad Kids members Omyra Lynn, Elijah Black and Iris Spectre, and special-guest turn from the rawr-worthy Gunnar Montana. Jennifer Knapp at Tin Angel

American-Australian indie folk artist Jennifer Knapp is stopping by Philly's Tin Angel on her tour to promote her latest album, Set Me Free (which she released via Ani DeFranco's record label.) You may have heard about Knapp's story. She was formerly a contemporary Christian music star, but she left that career while at the top of her game. She returned to the music scene seven years later as an out-and-proud folk artist. Her journey is reflected in the songs on Set Me Free, and in her new memoir, Facing the Music, a perfect companion to this evening of soul-searching song. Joshua Thomas at Tin Angel

Philly singer-songwriter Joshua Thomas returns to the Tin Angel on his mini tour to promote his latest EP, The Harboring. This time he'll be joined by show openers Cape Wrath and Jennifer Pague of Vita and the Woolf. A romantic evening of fabulous, locally made music awaits. Jackie Beat at Voyeur

You've seen her on Fashion Police and even Hello Ross!, but now world-famous, always-naughty drag queen Jackie Beat is ready to tackle her next feat: Philadelphia! The bawdy queen will make her Philly debut Friday night at Voyeur in her solo comedy show And the Beat Goes On. In it, she will talk about working in the drag business for the past 25 years, and remind all you heifers that she was the Queen of Shade before Bianco Del Rio ever thought about gluing on those wonky lashes. Mama's House

Believe it or not Liberty City Kings Drag and Burlesque matriarch Lascivious Jane turns 40 this week, and she's celebrating with her Mama's House all-female cabaret. She'll be joined by burlesquers Luci Rising, Jezabelle von Jane, and Reggie Bügmüncher. Stick around when the show's over for the dance party, and to wish Miz Jane a happy birthday. Bloody Mary Drag Brunch

History buffs and mimosa lovers (which covers about all of us, right) will dig this drag brunch at Victoria Freehouse starring comedic queens Aurora Whorealis, Pissi Myles, and Lili St. Queer. The ladies are bound to come dressed as some of history's fiercest crowned divas while you chow down on the gay-owned Victoria Freehouse's English-inspired brunch fare and guzzle bottomless mimosas. Golden Girls GayBINGO

The Golden Girls and GayBINGO together on one night? That card has win-win-win written all over it. Join the Bingo Verifying Divas for this month's AIDS Fund-benefitting game, which promises to be rife with "cheesecake, stories about Sicily and Saint Olaf and a whole lotta laughs." Halloween is long gone, but Liberty City Kings Drag and Burlesque still have plenty of tricks and treats up their ... um, corsets. This eighth-anniversary spectacle will feature performance highlights from the past year and, for you high rollers, special VIP tables with champagne service. Cheers, bitches! • It's copy-cat week at Josh Schonewolf's Mr. Everything competition at Tabu, where contestants are asked to imitate popular Philly performers. Starts at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
• Pissi Myles will stand in for host Mimi Imfurst while she's traveling around Europe for this week's Drag Wars, which is themed "Around the World in NINEty Days."
