Jon’s Bar & Grille, the South Street institution with a claim to Three Stooges fame, has closed after 37 years in business.

The business, the building, and the liquor license are up for sale for $2.5 million, Philly.com reports. The business has been open since 1981, and added the corner property at 3rd and South, with a roof deck space, in 1998. The bar claims to be on the site of the birthplace of Three Stooges member Larry Fine, who was born in 1902 at 606 South 3rd Street.

The closure marks another blow to longtime South Street institutions. Middle Eastern spot Cedars at 2nd and South closed over the summer after 32 years in business, and a massive fire shut down Bridget Foy’s at 2nd and South Streets last fall. Bridget’s is set to reopen in 2019.
