Independence Day is almost here, and Bastille Day isn’t far behind. Royal Boucherie is celebrating both with specials starting this weekend and continuing with a slate of tastings leading up to a Bastille Day blowout.

Starting on Friday, June 29th and going through Saturday, July 14thNick Elmi’s Old City French brasserie will be offering festive specials — like lobster rolls, steak frites, and a new gin cocktail spiked with freedom — inspired by the two holidays.

They’ve got some special, French-focused events planned for the week before Bastille Day, too. First, there’s a French cheese and wine tasting with Di Bruno Bros. in the restaurant’s upstairs parlor on Wednesday, July 11th. Then, on Friday, July 13th, they’ll hold a rosé and sparkling wine tasting, complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie. Both events are $35 per person; call the restaurant at 267-606-6313 to snag a spot or note “cheese and wine” or “rosé and bubbly” when making your reservation.

And on Bastille Day — that’s July 14th — they’re throwing a “Let them eat cake”-themed costume party from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Royal Boucherie is asking folks to come celebrate in French-themed dress — there will be prizes awarded for the best costumes as well as a Bastille Week grand-prize drawing _ and the Victor North Quartet will be in the house with live jazz.  Plus, everyone will receive a complimentary shortcake with berries and cream.
