Naf Naf Grill, the Chicago-based Middle Eastern fast-casual concept has opened at 1919 Market Street today. In celebration of the opening, Naf Naf is giving away free pita sandwiches, fries and drinks.

Naf Naf follows the now predictable Chipotle ordering process of picking a base (pita, hummus, rice, lettuce or couscous); from there, diners can add chicken shawarma, steak shawarma or falafel and then top garnish and sauce.

It will be interesting to see how Naf Naf’s Center City location fares as it is right around the corner from the falafel of beloved Mama’s Vegetarian and Christos’s Falafel cart. Those two institutions plus the growing presence of halal carts downtown make it a competitive market for the newcomer.

There are now more than 20 Naf Naf Grill locations in the country. The first area storefront opened in the King of Prussia Town Center complex and is also opening locations in Mount Laurel, Marlton and Malvern.
