Now the long nightmare that was our ten-or-so days without sun has ended, we feel ready to tell you about Assembly Rooftop Lounge, the open air lounge at the Logan Hotel. The bar is nine stories up and offers views of Swan Fountain, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Franklin Institute, the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the new Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple and City Hall.

Assembly includes a 35-person capacity enclosed lounge space and has room outdoors for an additional 150, weather permitting. The bar specializes in bubbly, offering a list of fizzy cocktails on tap, plus champagne and sparkling wines by the glass and by the bottle. General manager Troy Christian says “champagne is traditionally poured to commemorate special occasions, and we want every visit to Assembly to feel that way.”

The food menu will feature a variety of light, seasonal fare like oysters, cheese, charcuterie and tuna tartare.

Unlike at Hotel Monaco’s rooftop Stratus Lounge, at Assembly, the view is the star. A walkup bar and lounge space can be sealed off from the elements. The outdoor lounge extends along the Parkway with views of the surrounding areas. High-top tables are joined by customizable lounge “pods” that offer semi-private seating for up to 12 guests. Two of the pods also have fire pits.

Assembly is accessible from a dedicated entrance along the Logan Circle exterior of the building. Reservations are available for small parties and groups, with priority given to guests of the hotel and Urban Farmer. In the event of a wait, visitors are encouraged to enjoy a drink at Urban Farmer or at the Commons bar in the lobby. At the busiest times, some tables will have food-and-beverage minimums.

Assembly Rooftop Lounge is now open. Hours are Monday through Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. and Friday through Sunday beginning at 3 p.m.
