Drexel University’s hospitality program has announced its spring events at its Academic Bistro. The events include a Roman food and beverage lecture with author Katie Parla, a Zeppoli pop-up and a traditional Swedish smorgasbord.

Tasting Rome

Monday, April 4
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Join educator, journalist and writer Katie Parla as she lectures on roman cuisine from her new book “Tasting Rome”.  All attendees will receive a copy of the book, an aperitivo and Drexel students will prepare suppli, porchetta, pizza bianco and more items from the book that represent the food of Rome.

Join Joey Baldino of Zeppoli for a family-style dinner of Sicilian delights with the help of Drexel culinary arts and hospitality management students. The event is BYOB.

Swedish Smorgasbord

Never had a Swedish meal here in Philadelphia? This is your chance. Join the entertaining Henrik Ringbom, chef de cuisine at Brauhaus Schmitz and honest-to-god Swedish chef as he prepares a family-style smorgasbord of traditional and modernized Swedish dishes. The event is BYOB.
