Alma Mater Offers Mt. Airy Deals Galore

Alma Mater celebrates its grand opening today at 7165 Germantown Avenue in Mount Airy. The former home of North by Northwest is a restaurant/bar/beer garden designed for sports watching in an ode to Philadelphia’s prep schools, colleges and universities. Alma Mater is open from morning to late night and offers reasons to come in at anytime of day.

The main floor offers an antique bar with sixteen beers on tap. Outside is a seasonal beer garden with its own boardwalk and ping pong tables. Downstairs is a sports lounge with plenty of TVs for watching live events.

Alma Mater is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Brunch includes a bottomless cocktail option for $36. Weekday happy hour is offered from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. to midnight. 

The bar offers signature cocktails for just $6 and a selection of wine by the glass is set at $7. All entrees are under $15 and brunch is $16 and includes breakfast cocktail; coffee or tea; basket of bread for the table; entree and a dessert.

Alma Mater has been open for about a month now but tonight is the official grand opening. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. with:
