North Bowl’s Second Annual Tot Chef Competition Is Coming

Blow-torched s’mores tots at last year’s competition.

Like their french fried cousin, tater tots are the ultimate comfort food. Little did we know, however, that tots are also the base around which creativity can flourish. Yes, if you can make a crispy-yet-fluffy tot, you may be able to take a burger to perfection. But why not let tots take center stage some of the time?

North Bowl gets it, which is why they are hosting their 2nd Annual Tot Chef Competition on Saturday August 1st. Think you can make a great tot? Now’s the time to prove it.

Here’s what you need to know, whether you are a tot-creator or simply a tot-appreciator.

Located in their outdoor beer garden, the competition will run from 2 PM to 5 PM, and is entirely free for attendees and competitors.

Tot competitors: Think you know what the best tot recipe is? Enter for free by emailing media@northbowlphilly.com. Cash prizes, gift cards, and giveaways will be given out to participants, and the winner has a chance to have their recipe gain a spot on North Bowl’s menu.

Or, if you’re simply interested in eating a bunch of tots, come and taste all the recipes and vote for your favorite. Alongside the food, there will be music and drink specials all day to add to the tot experience. Guest judges will be announced closer to the event.

If you ask us, it’s just the right kind of fun to celebrate tater tots in the middle of the summer.
