New Bluecoat Gin Available In PA (For A Limited Time)

Those of you who read Foobooz regularly know that we’re big fans of gin. I mean, we’re big fans of pretty much anything with alcohol in it, but gin is…special. It’s one of those spirits that we don’t think gets the respect it deserves among drinkers, and we have committed ourselves to doing something about that.

Anyway…

With all that in mind, we have news that the crew at Philadelphia Distilling will have their new Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin in all Pennsylvania Wine & Spirits stores starting today.

Two important things to note here. Thing 1) This is a good gin. Different, sure–it’s basically normal old Bluecoat aged in American oak barrels for three months (or more), which gives it both an amber color, and some whiskey-ish notes that round out the flavor–but that’s ok. It’s a seriously small-batch process, with only six barrels going at a time.

Thing 2) It’s only going to be in stores for thirty days and then it’ll be gone. At least from Pennsylvania. So if you’re a gin drinker, or if you’re just interested in tasting something new and different, this is your chance. Pick up a bottle while you can, because there’s no telling when it might be available again.
