Don Tollefson to Withdraw Guilty Plea, Wants to Represent Himself at Trial

Former sportscaster Don Tollefson was expected to learn his sentence today on fraud charges, but unexpectedly changed course.

Don Tollefson pleaded guilty in September to fraud charges, and today he was expected to learn his fate.

Only, he changed his mind. Tollefson decided today to withdraw his guilty plea he stole $317,000. Furthermore, Tollefson wants to represent himself at trial.

One can imagine Tollefson’s lawyer is going to look that way for a while.

Tollefson admitted stealing $317,000 from 200 victims by funneling money intended for charity to himself. He said he was addicted to alcohol and other drugs, and spent time in rehab this year.
