Unlicensed Philadelphia Abortion ‘Doctor’ Gets 6 to 12 Years
Steven Massof, who testified against “House of Horrors” abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell last year, received a sentence of 6 to 12 years in state prison yesterday.
“I’m not here to make excuses. I’m here to take full responsibility for my actions and my inactions,” an emotional Massof, 51, said before being sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Benjamin Lerner.
Massof, originally from Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty in November 2011 to two counts of third-degree murder in the deaths of two babies and to related crimes.
Massof, an unlicensed medical school graduate from a school in Grenada, testified last April that each procedure was “literally a beheading…. It would rain fetuses. Fetuses and blood all over the place.” He could be eligible for parole in as early as three years.
Kermit Gosnell was convicted and is serving three life sentences without parole. Philadelphia magazine writer Steve Volk extensively covered Gosnell’s abortion practice last year.
