The Fastest Growing Companies in Philadelphia Area

The fastest-growing company in the Philadelphia region is one you may have never heard of: Pop! Promos. The company will make custom sunglasses, scarves, car chargers, beanies and — plenty of other products — featuring any logo you want. Making things from scratch (literally melting the plastic for sunglasses and weaving winter hats individually) has been a hit, as the business has grown more than 1661 percent over the past three years.

That made Pop! Promos the No. 1 company on this year’s Philadelphia 100 — a list of the fastest-growing private companies in the region. The rankings are based on the company’s percentage increase in sales from from the prior three full years of business. The contest is run by the Wharton Small Business Development Center, The Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

To enter, companies go through a nomination process, so there’s a good chance that other businesses in the region have experienced more growth but didn’t enter.

Winners must be privately held companies and not subsidiaries, franchises or divisions of other businesses. Company headquarters must be located in one of the following counties: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery or Bucks in Pennsylvania; Burlington, Camden, Gloucester or Mercer in New Jersey; and New Castle in Delaware.
