Jon Gruden’s quarterback camp is in full swing. Another year, another crop of QB prospects awkwardly interacting with Chucky in a film room setting.

The Mothership is getting even more out of the popular series this year. ESPN.com is printing Gruden’s scouting reports on the men he is working with. First up is Geno Smith:

Sheldon Richardson hasn’t traveled the straightest path to get to this point.

Considered one of the top defensive linemen in the country coming out of high school in 2009, the St. Louis native originally chose to play for University of Missouri but was academically ineligible, and had to attend junior college instead. He finally joined the Tigers for the 2011 season but a shoulder injury slowed him down.

Richardson finally hit his stride last year. posting 75 tackles — 10.5 for loss — and 4.5 sacks. The disruptive  interior lineman garnered second-team All-SEC honors. He is considered one of the top linemen in the draft.

Last month, Marcus Lattimore tweeted about getting a cheesesteak while in Philadelphia.

And today, a league source confirmed that the South Carolina running back was in town for an official pre-draft visit with the Eagles.

Greg Cosell has studied Chip Kelly’s Oregon offense extensively. And we know that he pores over hours and hours of college tape in order to be well-educated when it comes to NFL Draft prospects. For the purposes of this article we asked him to marry that knowledge – to provide us with a handful of players from this current crop that would fit well with Kelly, based off the tendencies he showed and system he deployed while in Eugene.

With the draft less than three weeks away, here’s what the national media are saying about the Eagles and the No. 4 pick:

The Eagles added a pair of cornerbacks – Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher – in free agency, but they very well could look to add another in the first few rounds of this month’s draft.

Alabama’s Dee Milliner is the consensus top option on the board, but behind him, there are several quality corners who are expected to go in the first three rounds. One of them, Mississippi State’s Darius Slay, had an official visit with the Eagles, according to a report.

The Eagles worked out Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson on Friday, a league source confirmed.

The 6-6, 303-pound Texas native was an all-state quarterback in high school and played the position some in junior college as well. He started out in Oklahoma as a tight end and defensive end before eventually transitioning to tackle. He played on the right side in 2011 and was primarily a left tackle last year, starting all but two games there.

Johnson ran a 4.72 40 at the Combine.

DeMeco Ryans on Thursday was asked about the perception that he is not as effective in a 3-4 scheme as he is in a 4-3. The veteran linebacker cut in before the reporter had time to finish the question.

“Perception,” Ryans said with emphasis, followed by a laugh.

“It was a big perception that DeMeco doesn’t fit the 3-4. Whatever. I played in that defense. I played with the Texans in the 3-4 defense when we were the No. 1, No. 2 defense in the league. So if I didn’t fit in there, we wouldn’t have been that highly ranked.”
