There are multiple reports swirling around around about Michael Vick‘s ongoing recovery from a concussion sustained on November 11 against the Cowboys.
The first suggested that Vick’s symptoms are getting worse and that he could miss the rest of the season. The most recent says that the quarterback believes the Eagles are using his concussion to allow them to continue to start rookie Nick Foles, and has “complained of being the victim of politics.”
Here’s what you need to know:
Ask not what Jon Gruden can do for you. Ask what you can do for Jon Gruden.
That is the mindset that needs to be adopted if you want to get a realistic feel for the odds of the Eagles landing Chucky.
With five games to go, the focus for the Eagles is clearly on the offseason and 2013.
Jason Babin was let go this week, meaning guys like Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry should see more snaps. While he had his share of issues, was Babin still an effective pass-rusher? And will the Eagles have a tough time replacing his production?
Let’s take a look.
Jason Babin said he had to peel off the long-sleeve shirt when he hit the field Thursday. The Florida rays were shining strong on those promising Jaguars, who put on an absolute clinic on what it is to hold a practice.
“The tempo, the urgency, the way the guys went from drill to drill, how they practiced, the way they communicated, how they ran. It was the way practice is supposed to be,” said Babin, a quick smile coming to his face. “It was refreshing.”
The 32-year-old Babin, sent packing by the 3-8 Eagles only to be picked up by the 2-9 Jags, was putting a happy spin on his recent release and subsequent waiver claim by the second-worst team in football. All while making the Eagles — tied for third-worst in the NFL, thank you very much — sound like the less desirable team to play for.

Eagles rookie defensive tackle Fletcher Cox missed practice today because of a death in his family. Cox suffered a tailbone injury in Monday night’s loss […]
Early on during today’s press conference, defensive coordinator Todd Bowles was asked about potentially making personnel changes in the Eagles’ secondary.
“We have possible lineup changes, and people compete everyday,” Bowles said. “There are no spots set in stone. We’re playing our best guys. If there was somebody that was stepping up to play better, they would be playing.”
Bowles didn’t mean it as a slight on the Eagles’ depth, but his comment spotlights the team’s lack of young talent at cornerback and safety.
Brandon Graham said Tuesday’s release of Jason Babin made him realize that in the NFL, “just when you think you’re safe, you’re gone.”
Babin hit the pillow Monday night as the team leader in sacks, and woke up (temporarily) unemployed.
Did his performance against the Panthers weigh into the Eagles’ decision to let him go? We took a look at the All-22 tape to figure it out.
Earlier this week, Todd Bowles talked about how the Eagles had problems executing a “high school cover-3” against the Panthers.
What did he mean? Let’s take a look at a few of the plays to see what exactly is going on with this defense right now.
Here’s a roundup of what the national media are saying about the Eagles this week.
When Jeffrey Lurie and his circle of trusted advisers decide on a head-coaching target this offseason, chance are, they could have some competition.
While there are still five games to go, we all know these are the final days with Andy Reid. But the Eagles are just one of several teams that could be looking for a new head coach.
Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com, who worked previously as a scout for the Eagles, Ravens and Browns, recently took a look at 11 potential head-coaching jobs that could be open this offseason. He ranked the positions based on personnel, from most attractive to least attractive. Here’s what he came up with.
The look of the offensive line may change yet again this week, this time (drumroll) with Evan Mathis playing center.
Dallas Reynolds was sidelined at Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury. He hopes to be ready for Sunday night’s game in Dallas. If he’s not, Mathis could very well be the guy.
There are two teams in the NFL that have fewer wins than the 3-8 Eagles.
And today, one of them claimed defensive end Jason Babin.
According to multiple reports, the Jaguars added Babin today through waivers. Per Adam Schefter, eight teams put a claim in on him.
Bryce Brown was involved in pretty much every significant offensive play the Eagles had in their 30-22 loss to the Panthers Monday night.
That included 19 runs for a franchise rookie record 178 yards. But it also included two fumbles.
Here’s a look at Brown’s big night, using the All-22 tape.
