Name: Cheryl Hardy

Role: Program volunteer at Hank Gathers Recreation Center, a recreation center in North Philly that provides after school programming and healthy activities to low-income youth.

What motivates you to try and make Philadelphia a healthier place? 
Working between two low-income housing projects, seeing children daily in the need of meals and exercise, and having a recreation center in the area providing information and skills.

Describe a health-related turning point in your life.
Having a stroke and being able to provide assistance to others, and the ability to give information on signs to look forward and motivation to succeed.

What policy would you institute to make Greater Philadelphia a healthier region?
That everyone, regardless of color, age, or finances, can participate in a healthy regimen.

What’s the most important part of your health or wellness regimen?
Being educated on the human body and spreading information and providing support.

What is your number one piece of health-related advice?
Trying to eat healthy. Young people today need to interact in recreation centers, physical ed programs, and taking walks because they are our future.
