This September, East Falls will be welcoming a new yoga studio to their riverside turf — Yoga Brain — a venture owned by local yoga teacher Justine Bacon. While the finishing touches are being made on the studio, Yoga Brain is hosting some pop-up events in East Falls as teasers of what is to come — and you better believe they come at a highly discounted price.

For some fun outdoor stretches in the sun, Yoga Brain will be popping up at the East Falls Farmers’ Market — located right along Kelly Drive under the Route 1 bridge — twice a month for some donation-based yoga. In August, these classes will take place on Saturday, August 4 and Saturday, August 25, at 1 p.m.

For some yoga with a side of plant glory, Yoga Brain is hosting four pop-up classes per week at floral-design-shop-slash-cafe Vault and Vine (3507 Midvale Avenue). Mondays will be Bacon’s renown yoga for runners and cyclists at 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays will be an Ashtanga flow at 7:15 a.m., and Fridays at noon will be a lunchtime flow. These classes are $10 for a drop-in or $40 for a five-class pack that allows you to bring a friend to each class. Plus, Yoga Brain has partnered with Honest Tea so every participant gets a complimentary bottle of tea after each practice.

Yoga Brain will open soon, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for Yoga Brain’s official class schedule and grand opening festivities. After the studio’s opening, Bacon plans to begin the process (and fundraising) for the addition of hot yoga classes to the Yoga Brain schedule.
