It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming Just Salad — a NYC chain that has 34 locations in New York, Chicago, Dubai, and Hong Kong — to Philadelphia. Their Rittenhouse location was the healthy eatery’s first in town, and now, less than a year, they’re opening a second.

On April 9, Just Salad opened their doors in University City, within walking distance of both U Penn and CHOP. Like their other locations, this Just Salad will serve up, well, salads, which prioritize on locally sourced and organic produce. But besides salads, you can also find wraps, warm bowls, toasts (including, yes, avocado toast), soups, and smoothies on the menu. And the best part? A lot of the menu items ring up for less than $10.

“Philly has responded incredibly to Just Salad — customers love that they no longer need to pay over $10 for salads with tons of local and organic options,” said Just Salad CEO and founder Nick Kenner, in a press release.

Kenner also notes that the brand’s reusable bowl program has been popular in Philadelphia, with 15 percent of their Rittenhouse customers participating. Salads that are good for you and the planet? Yes, please.

On Thursday, April 12, the salads will be even more affordable from 12 to 2 p.m. In honor of the new store opening, the restaurant will be selling their salads for just $2 to anyone who follows the brand on Instagram. (It’s @justsalad. Run, don’t walk.)

Just Salad is now open at 3728 Spruce Street.
