Remember a few months back when local yogi Katie Gould led rooftop yoga classes at the shuttered Bok Technical School in South Philly? And remember how, each week, she would invite students back to her house around the corner for mimosas and a hang sesh? Well, those classes were so fun, apparently, that Katie is bringing the yoga-and-breakfast game to South Philly’s Hydro+Pose yoga studio starting this Sunday. It’s like the Breakfast Club, but with yoga.

The class gets underway at 10:30 a.m. You do a 60-minute yoga class set to a soundtrack of Beirut tunes (the band is in town this weekend with a show at the Tower Theater), then it’s time for brunch — right there in the studio. The menu includes homemade veggie frittata, turkey bacon and fruit salad. You can stick around until noon eating, chatting and, well, hanging out.

If all goes well, Gould says, the class could become a mainstay: “This event started in my South Philly living room as a way to build my own yoga community through asana, good food and great conversation,” she says. “It could become a regular series at Hydro+Pose.”

It’s $15 to participate and space is limited to 15 students, so sign up ASAP. The studio is located at 1903 South Broad Street, on the second floor. Head here for more details. And to learn more about Katie, go here.
