Runners and Cyclists Owned the Car-Free Ben Franklin Bridge This Weekend

And there's many an Instagram photo to prove it.

In case you missed it, this past weekend, Ben Franklin Bridge turned into a scene from The Walking Dead (minus the zombies, thank goodness). There were no cars allowed, making it an urban oasis of sorts for runners, cyclists, walkers — everyone! Emily and I made our way over the bridge, and all I said for pretty much the entire walk was “Ughhhh, I wish it was like this all the time. I mean, I know that’s not practical BUT … ” over and over and over again. I was probably a pretty annoying walking companion, actually.

It was just such a sight to see a bridge, usually clogged with grumpy commuters, clogged with people — and many a cute dog — getting their sweat on. And it was pretty darn Instagram-worthy, too. So below, our favorite Instagram photos from the car-free Ben Franklin Bridge this weekend.
