And it looks like it's going to be even bigger and better than the first one.

Remember last spring, when we announced that the first-ever Philly VegFest was coming to Headhouse Square, and you guys freaked out? Well, prepare to go nuts again, because the second annual Philly VegFest is headed our way soon — June 6th (sadly, the same day as Be Well Philly Boot Camp. But the good news is, VegFest goes ’til 4 p.m., so you can go afterward!), to be exact — and it looks like it’s going to be even bigger and better than the first one.

This year, the free celebration of all things vegetarian and vegan, hosted by the Human League, will be held at the much-larger Clark Park in West Philly. Meaning there will be more room for vegan and vegetarian-friendly vendors galore. Yippee!

Folks can expect tons of food from places like V Street (Remember the taco-type things they had last year? I am still thinking about them.), Sip-N-Glo, Gangster Vegan Organics, Happy Hippy, Soom Foods, and more. They’ve also got tons of commercial vendors lined up, including Smak Parlour Fashion Truck and Dr. Bronner’s.

And they’ve got some great speakers lined up, too — author of the best-selling book “Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds About Animal and Food”, Gene Baur, to name one. Oh, and did I mention , they’ll also have live music, and a dog station? I repeat: Live music, and a dog station. Could it get any better?

The festival of every vegetarian’s dreams will kick off at 11 a.m. on June 6th and with run until 4 p.m. It’s free and everyone — kids and dogs included — is welcome. Just make sure you and your crew show up hungry; if it’s anything like last year, there will be plenty of free food samples to chow down on. You can check out the full lineup for the festival here.
