Get ready to squeal with joy, Cherry Hill residents: You’ve got a brand spankin’ new yoga studio headed your way. Moonshine Power Yoga is set to open in Short Hills Town Center on February 28th with — what else? — a free yoga class, followed by a grand opening shindig with lots of yoga-themed giveaways.

Studio owner Gina Ward, a Lululemon ambassador who’s taught spin and boot camp classes for years, got her first yoga teacher training certification from Dhyana Yoga in 2013. The idea to open a yoga studio came to Ward about a year ago, after her father committed suicide. She looked at is a sort of new beginning — a new family, she says. She chose Cherry Hill because, she says, “It felt like an untapped location that was thriving.”

Ward tells us the new heated power yoga studio, which was a karate studio in its past life, boasts a 1,000-square-foot studio space that can fit up to 60 people. They are still in the process of putting the finishing touches on the space, but Ward says yogis can expect a rustic feel with lots of reclaimed wood and antique furniture.

The studio will be offering a whopping 28 heated power yoga classes each week to start, and they’ll add even more classes once they get into the groove of things. Drop-in classes will run you $15, and they’ll also offer two $10 community classes each week. And remember: They’re kicking things off with a class that won’t cost you a dime. You can sign up to join in on the free 60-minute power yoga class and grand opening party here.
