Class Pass: 5 Fitness Classes to Try in Philly This Week

Looking to shake up your workout routine? To help inspire you to think outside the box, we’re kicking off a new weekly feature, highlighting five fun fitness classes you can try every day during the week ahead. So open your calendar and start plotting your fitness plan—because busting out of your workout rut is so the name of the game.

MONDAY

What: Yoga Sculpt // A yoga class on toning steroids. You’ll use light resistance—think two- to five-pound weights—to lengthen and build muscle, as you experience yoga poses in a whole new way.
Where: Sculpere, 209 Poplar Street, Northern Liberities.
When: Mondays from 8 to 9:15 p.m.

TUESDAY

What: 30-Minute Spin // This Fishtown Spin studio just launched an express class aimed at getting you sweaty in less time. You’ll pedal your way to a serious calorie burn in just 30-minutes flat.
Where: Ciclo, 2040 Frankford Avenue, Fishtown.
When: Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

What: Deck of Cards // This class is all a game of workout luck. You’ll get sweaty using TRX, kettlebells and VIPR equipment as a randomly drawn card from a fitness deck determines what moves you do. It means no two workouts are ever the same.
Where: Relentless Fitness, 249 South 10th Street, Washington Square West.
When: Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

THURSDAY

What: Aqua Aerobics // If you haven’t taken a swim class with Holly Waters (yes, that is her real last name), you need try this one pronto. She’ll lead you through an all-levels cardio-and-conditioning routine done entirely in a saltwater pool. Promise: You’ll sleep like a baby afterward.
Where: Fitness Works, 714 Reed Street, South Philly.
When: Thursdays and Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

FRIDAY

What: Pilates Mid-day Escape // Put your lunch break to good use with a 45-minute mid-day mat class that’ll get you invigorated for your afternoon. Use the studio’s shower facilities to clean up before heading back to the office.
Where: Thrive Pilates, 2016 Walnut Street, Rittenhouse.
When: Fridays from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m.
