See Chicks Run: All-Women (With One Lucky Guy) 5K/10K in the Wissahickon
Well, this is a pretty funny idea for a race: The fourth annual See Chicks Run race will take place next month, with a field of hundreds of women and—wait for it—one lucky guy, chosen by lottery. He’s called the Rooster, duh.
The chip-timed race features 5K and 10K distances, both on the shaded Wissahickon Valley Trail. It benefits Philly Girls in Motion, a volunteer organization that encourages and motivates girls and their families to participate in fitness activities and develop healthy habits.
The race starts at 8:30 (Woo, sleeping in! Sort of.) on June 1st, and includes age-group prizes. Ladies, your unofficial goal is to beat the guy across the finish line. At least, that would totally be my goal if I was doing this race.
It’s $30 for women, and $10 to enter the rooster lottery. Register here.
