Talk about interesting places to hold a race. The first annual Nationwide 4.01k Walk/Run at the Philadelphia Zoo is on September 8th and, especially for my fellow animal lovers, it sounds like it’s going to be a pretty sweet event.

All proceeds go to Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization. Philabundance works to reduce hunger and food insecurity in the Delaware Valley by making food accessible to those needing it.

Besides helping a great, local organization, race participants will also get a free ticket to the zoo and have the option of buying discounted zoo tickets for $10 for additional guests, valid only on race day. Registration is $40 until the day of the race. Sign up here to monkey around for a good cause.

$40, Saturday, September 8th at 8:15 a.m., Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 West Girard Avenue.
