While Love Park is still under construction, the Christmas Village, presented by NRG, knows the show must go on. The seasonal favorite packed up its bells and holly and set up shop across the street at City Hall for 2016.

Open daily between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, the open-air German Christmas market is making spirits bright thanks in part to the sponsorship and fun planned activities of leading electricity supply company NRG. And just because it’s in a new location doesn’t mean it’s short on Yuletide supply. In fact, this year’s new additions might out-jolly its previous traditions….

Rock around the new kid’s corner (with a carousel!)

A kid-friendly zone with games and entertainment for the youngest villagers will be set up with a–get this–traditional carousel inside City Hall’s courtyard. You’ll have no problem dragging your kids along to this shopping experience–the only problem might be getting them to leave.

Bring Fido along

Bring your dog to City Hall for a pet photo opportunity with Santa. The village will feature a dog fuel station with treats from vendor Kylie’s Canine Treats.

Share the ‘cheer’ at weekly holiday happy hours

HoHo Happy Hour on Wednesdays will feature special deals on food and drinks from Chaddsford Winery and German Grill, plus live entertainment. (Don’t miss the December 7 kickoff of Irish Day, presented by Tir Na Nog.)

Scope out North Pole-worthy mansions

Check out the design skills of Philadelphia-area media personalities as they attempt to decorate the sweetest gingerbread house on the block for the #NRGGingerbread house event on December 9. Cash prizes benefit local non-profits like Philabundance and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others.

The Christmas Village will also feature a Wish Wall in partnership with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, making this year a can’t-miss event for the whole family. Take part in tradition with the festive, twinkling lights and decorations, powered by NRG.

Meet an Eagle in person

After the gingerbread judging goes down, stop by the NRG booth for Eagles player night on December 9. Catch Swoop and the Eagles cheerleaders again on December 16.

Score merry giveaways

Christmas is only once a year, so stop in each night to make the most of the merriness. The NRG booth is making the season merry and bright all month long with giveaways, activities, and special guests.
