Profile

As the name promises, Anne-Marie Lasher’s Picnic has everything you could need, including vintage baskets priced $18 to $35. Salads such as niçoise, sandwiches, and the chili-spiked coleslaw are the most popular items here. Lasher, formerly of Fork, opened Picnic in response to the growing takeout trend: “I didn’t know a single 20-year-old who knew how to cook.” Lasher won’t picnic without her chickpea-and-olive-studded Greek cucumber salad and her garlic-cumin-paprika-spiced Moroccan eggplant salad. Follow her lead.
