Are You and Your Fiancé Taking Weddingmoon Before Your Big Day?

We have certainly heard of couples escaping, if budget and time allows, for a little just-the-two-of-them getaway before the wedding (preferably, we imagine, where the wedding shall not be spoken of)—but we can’t say we’ve heard of this term before: weddingmoon.

The term babymoon has been making the rounds for years, now—the trip designated to be taken by a couple just before they have their first babe and won’t be making any such just-the-two-of-them trips for a while to come—and as you might guess, a weddingmoon would offer a similar opportunity for a couple to reconnect amid lots of down time before some life chaos ensues. After all, the honeymoon is meant for post-wedding down time, hello!

It would seem that a term has been born for this practice as the trend of couples taking this type of trip is on the rise. And while some engaged duos (especially celebs, of course) might opt to go all out in the name of finding a little peace and quiet together before resuming their terrible fights over seating arrangements, really, a little nearby weekend getaway will do the same trick. And if the aforementioned constraints of time and budget do allow, well, we have to say—we’re on board with this.

Are you and your to-be taking a weddingmoon? Where are you headed?
