There Were Two Proposals at Philly’s Dîner en Blanc!

Mika and Mark!

Mika and Mark!

Well, since there was fun proposal at last year’s Dîner en Blanc, we couldn’t help but expect to hear similar news this year—and happily, we did!

Last night, two couples—that we know of!—wrapped up their evenings as brides- and grooms-to-be. Below are the happy couples to whom we offer our congrats!

Mika Harding and Mark Standard (above) were seated in front of the Academy of Music at last night’s Dîner en Blanc, which stretched up and down Broad Street in front of City Hall. The couple had come three years ago, the first time the event was in Philly, on a whim and loved it—and because this is Dîner en Blanc’s third year here and three is the couple’s lucky number, Mark thought it the perfect atmosphere to ask Mika to marry him. (We—and Mika!—think he was right!)

They’re thinking a destination in the near future in St. Martin, one of their very favorite places. Sounds like a good idea to us.

Erin & Brett!

Erin & Brett!

Erin Knoll Black and Brett Macminn had never come to Dîner en Blanc before, but were really excited for their first event—and Brett thought that the atmosphere would make for a fantastic proposal spot. He asked their dining neighbors at the table next to them if they would please snap a photo of he and Erin in front of City Hall—and dropped down on one knee at just the right moment.

And they move fast! The couple is talking about a wedding next summer in front of the lighthouse in Wildwood.

We love these stories! Congrats to both of them!
