There Was a Proposal at Philly's Dîner En Blanc Last Night

Last night, as 2,500(ish) people lit their sparklers on JKF Boulevard between 30th Street Station and oh, say, 22nd(ish) Street at the 2013 Philadelphia edition of Dîner en Blanc, a Philly guy proposed to a Philly girl, and she said yes!

Terrence Gatsby, owner of a Philly IT management consulting firm, surprised girlfriend/now-fiance Natalia Gamarra with a ring and the question about halfway through the evening.

Terrence chose Dîner en Blanc as the scene for the proposal because both he and Natalia point to last year’s event—the first time it had ever been held in Philly—as the night they really fell in love. They had met weeks earlier at R2L, and even though Terrence was immediately taken with Natalia, who is a tourism sales manager with the PHLCVB, it had taken her a few dates to be convinced. But by the time Dîner en Blanc rolled around, they both knew they were in it for good.

To make the night extra special, Nadine Louw of Flowers & Co. put together an especially beautiful—and of course, all-white—tablescape for the couple’s two-top at the event, and Jon Cichon of Lacroix whipped up a mini wedding cake for dessert. The couple are planning a winter wedding in Natalia’s native Argentina, and then a spring 2014 celebration for all of their Philly-based family and friends.

Congrats from all of us here at PW!
