Almost 40 monuments – including some gravesites – were found defaced at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cherry Hill, New Jersey earlier this year.

Michael Walsh, a spokesperson for the Diocese of Camden, said the destruction was first noticed in mid January but went largely unnoticed until warm weather and the Easter weekend brought more people to the cemetery.

No arrests have been made, and police are continuing to investigate.

Walsh said the cemetery will pay for minor repairs and waive some fees associated with typical installation and repairs. Families and monument owners seeking extensive repair will have to pay for it themselves.
