Philly Fighting Words: Why Everything You Think Is Great Actually Sucks

Well, we actually do say something nice about New Jersey.

There are some truths that Philadelphians hold to be self-evident: Wawa is awesome. Our cabs are crap. Water ice is the sweet summer nectar of the gods. But we found some people who disagree. (Prepare to be enraged.)

Online now:

Wawa? Meh.

Terry Gross Is Bad for the Country.

Parking in Philly Should Be Harder. And Cost Way More.

The Phanatic Is an Ass.

New Jersey Is Not Such an Armpit.

Water Ice Is Just Sugar Ice, People.

  • Not A Stoop Fan

Ok, Fighting Words is a not really a thought provoking or fight starting peice of editorialzing. Yet, the only two things I can find fault with is going to John’s for Water Ice, it is really not that good. And, sitting on a Stoop to eat it. Real Philadelphians don’t sit on stoops, We sit on steps. When are you neophyte journalists going to learn when in Rome……It is not really that difficult. Learn about our traditions and likes before you start assailing them.

  • I’m too busy railing against stuff I feel is somewhat important, Not manufactured controversies. I don’t have the energy, but I Do get a kick out of all that American Exceptionalism coming out in the Comments.
