Chapterhouse Café & Gallery

Located on 9th Street in Bella Vista, this cozy café features four large rooms of gallery space. The works on the walls comprise mostly Philadelphia-based illustrators, and, if you look up, a collection of ultra modern steel mobiles by local metals artist Rob Cortez. Typically, there are two artists showing at a time, with the exception of an annual group show. Added bonus? While pondering the art, you can grab a pastry or cup of Philadelphia organic fair-trade coffee at the café counter. Chapterhouse is open every day from 7am to 10pm.
Fleisher Center For Works on Paper

The Fleisher Center For Works on Paper is a gorgeous space, located mere steps from the Italian Market in Bella Vista. Besides showcasing exhibits focusing on a variety of works on paper, the gallery plays host to classes on printmaking and photography as well as serving as an independent studio for Fleisher members. The goal of the space is to make art available to the public regardless of socioeconomic status or artistic background.

This unassuming Queen Village gallery was opened in 2010 by artist Jed Williams to showcase work by new and mid-career artists. Williams is adventurous when curating his exhibitions, so expect every medium from street art and mixed media to photography and sculpture. Jed Williams Gallery also hosts workshops, trunk shows and free music events for local musicians and fashionistas alike.

Paradigm Gallery + Studio founders Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston moved their South Street gallery to Bella Vista’s thriving Fourth Street promenade in 2014. The space is first and foremost a gallery for the visual arts, but plays host to some live music and performance programming as well as free art classes. Events are almost always free, and there are usually two scheduled per month.
