Bill Cosby Performing to Save Temple Men’s Gymnastics Program
Comedian and Temple alum Bill Cosby will host an exclusive event at the Independence Visitor Center on Thursday, August 14th to raise funds to save Temple University’s Men’s Gymnastics program (TUMG).
Earlier this year, it was announced that the TUMG team would be cut from Temple Athletics. A funny thing, since the 88-year-old program is the highest-winning men’s team in Temple history, with 14 NCAA individual event champions, 26 conference team championships, three Olympic athletes, two Olympic coaches, and the highest GPA of any Temple athletic program.
In an effort to raise awareness and garner donations, Cosby—who attended the university from 1961 to 1963—will host an intimate evening for 200 guests. In addition to the comedian’s performance, there will be a cocktail hour, silent auctions, and a meet and greet for premium ticket holders.
Tickets, which begin at $175, are available for purchase online. More information about the fundraiser can be found here.
