Saturday night the Third Annual Cheers for CHOP party took place at Valley Forge Casino Resort. Hosted by Friends of CHOP, over 600 of Philadelphia’s social and philanthropic young influencers gathered to raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to advance its research, teaching and clinical priorities. The evening started out with a cocktail party and light buffet while guests mingled, bid on silent auction items, and enjoyed live music by ’90s cover bands Go Go Gadjet and Saved By The 90s. The party really kicked into gear when Philadelphia’s own DJ Jazzy Jeff got behind the turntable and spun his magic for nearly 90 minutes. Each year a different department at CHOP is earmarked to receive funds; this year’s event raised over $625,000 to benefit CHOP’s Emergency Department, one of the most active pediatric emergency centers in the nation.
