Below: The annual gala drew many of Philadelphia’s beautiful people, including 6 ABC meteorologist Cecily Tynan and husband Greg Watson.

Below: Another beautiful couple, Dean Cafiero and Patricia Benitez; it’s been wonderful to watch these two find each other in the past year, fall in love, and now get engaged. Congratulations!

Every night, I meet so many wonderful people and hear fun stories that I share with you, but none compares to Mya Longacre (left) and her positive, upbeat attitude. Mya’s here with 6 ABC meteorologist Adam Joseph, Ava Longacre, and Ellie Rand. Mya tells me she’s been on a waiting list for a liver transplant for a while, but things are looking up as she is finally moving up the list and is sixth on the list as of October. Mya feels great most of the time, but can no longer physically attend school. She really misses experiencing her eighth grade and all the fun traditions that go along with it before she and her friends enter high school. She does video conference into the classroom for a few of her classes, so she is able to keep up with her school work. Shortly after I took this pic, the girls ran off to be in a photograph for the Fred and Suzanne Biesecker Pediatric Liver Center at CHOP. Fred and Suzanne Biesecker are the Longacres’ grandparents, and the center is a world leader in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pediatric liver diseases. I look forward to seeing Mya next year, especially to hear about what she thought of The Bachelor this year; it’s her favorite show.

Maybe for his 30th birthday next year.
