Welcome to Our Office

Ever wish you could sneak a peek at Philly Mag’s office space? Brace yourselves — we’re opening the doors to show you our new digs. After 26 years in a Market Street high-rise, we made the move east to Washington Square in 2017, and completely overhauled our headquarters, with the help of our friends at Floors USA. With modern fixtures, a cool open-concept and personalized Philly touches, we’ve built a new creative space to craft quality content for you month after month.

The Entryway

Guests are immediately greeted by an illuminated version of the iconic “P” Philly mag logo once they step off the elevator, and a sea of glass windows and doors, inviting them to take part in the bustling business of the day. Super trendy and sleek gray-washed luxurious vinyl floors put the finishing touch on our modern media hub. Keep reading to see more of where the monthly magazine magic happens…

The Accent Wall

Hey Ben, how ya been? Once inside, the awesome accent wall highlighting some of our Philly faves—like Ben Franklin—can’t help but catch your eye. Obviously, we have to showcase our love for all things Philly, that give us a daily dose of inspiration. Take note—the balance between the traditional furniture and the sleek grey luxury vinyl floors is perfect. Plus, who doesn’t love a space with Instagram-appeal in their office? #werkwall

The Conference Room

No one equates the word cool with a conference room but at Philly mag, we do. Our main meeting space, which we’ve coined “Independence Hall,” serves as a creative zone for pitch meetings, sales recaps, and greeting special guests that swing by. Fun fact — all of our other group meeting areas are named after famous Philadelphia squares — Washington Square, Franklin Square, Rittenhouse Square and Logan Square. The trendy woven carpet tiles are the perfect base to highlight our favorite Philadelphia covers from the archives that line the walls. What’s better inspiration for future headlines than looking at the past?

The Kitchen

With enormous windows opening up the space and a stunning view of Washington Square Park, most of the Philly mag staff prefer to take their lunch in this warm and welcoming space. The subway tile backsplash, natural stone countertops, and beautiful oak-washed luxury vinyl flooring keep things on-trend and tidy. Another accent wall towards the back showcases one of today’s hottest trends—crafting a bold yet classic detail with handmade cement tiles. Not only does it house the TV, it adds additional interest and contrast to this already sleek café!

The Living Room

For most casual work conversations, staff members sit in the living room. The chic, shared space is full of cozy leather couches, a serious statement-making chandelier and an assortment of trendy chairs atop a woven Moroccan-inspired rug. This homey-haven is a favorite amongst members of the team. It’s a real source of calm and creative inspiration, right in the center of the office.

The Layout

Not only did we move to a new part of the city, we made the switch to a new work style—the open office space. The open concept paired with modern tweed-inspired carpeting keeps the space light and bright. Despite the great nationwide debate surrounding the open-office layouts, this works better for us, allowing our edit and sales teams to collaborate and communicate more easily and more often.

The Exit

Last but not least—we have an impressive wall mural as guests exit the office accented by stylish houndstooth carpet tiles. It’s a fun photo-op spot and a great place to conclude our tour. Thanks so much for tagging along!
