Finally! One Less Reason to Hate Comcast

Where to get a cute blanket that also benefits our city’s homeless.

Let’s face it, we all have a little part of us that loves to hate on Comcast. Maybe it’s because Netflix takes way too long to buffer for 2016, or because, like these six senators, we can’t stand that Comcast is one of a very small handful of broadband and cable providers. Since Comcast word headquarters are located a stone’s throw from our office in the heart of Philadelphia, and Philly happens to love booing, well, of course we’re going to hate on them.

However, Comcast is winning us over one charitable act at a time. We had to highlight their recent collaboration with two local organizations because the end product is actually really, really cute – as in, we want one.

By mentoring local high school students at OneLove, Comcast has brought together young talent and the amazing people behind Project HOME to create the cutest blanket of all time. The 50” x 60” blankets ($30) feature a hand-drawn illustration of Philadelphia by Wink Wink Paper Co. and are the perfect antidote to all the cheesy Philly souvenirs out there. There’s also a poster ($12) of the illustration available for purchase.

For every five blankets sold, OneLove will donate a blanket to the homeless of our city. As an organization that empowers people to break the cycle of poverty through affordable, achievable resources, Project HOME is the perfect winter partner for OneLove. When you purchase a blanket, not only will you receive something stylish and comfy for your home – you’ll be outfitting someone on the streets in need of an extra layer this winter. Plus the blankets are manufactured in the city, so you’re keeping local business alive and supporting our young entrepreneurs.

Way to bring some positive forces together, Comcast.
