Does Your Block Need an Energy Efficiency Makeover?

This contest could help.

Trying to get your street to be a little more green? Here’s a neat neighborhood contest we came across: the Energy Coordinating Agency is holding a city-wide competition for blocks in need of an “energy efficiency makeover.”

The ECA’s EnergyFIT Philly program is aimed, per the contest page, at preserving affordable housing by using “innovative technologies with a high degree of building science and quality workmanship to some of Philadelphia’s oldest rowhomes.” Services will be free to low-income households that fall “below 60% of the median income, or $47,800 for a family of four.”

Applications are due by March 20th.
