Hey, Philly drivers: watch out for traffic on Ridge Avenue and Kelly Drive this week.

Starting Tuesday and lasting through Friday, lanes on both roads will close for repair projects during some peak travel hours.

On Ridge Avenue, lane restrictions will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 15th Street, 16th Street and 17th Street intersections. Construction activities are related to a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project to improve travel and safety along a 1.3 mile-section of Ridge Avenue. The $1.6 million project is expected to wrap up this summer.

On Kelly Drive, restrictions for milling and paving will be in place between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., as well as between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Closures will affect lanes between the Gustine Lake Interchange from Lincoln Drive to just west of the Falls Bridge.

It’s part of PennDOT’s effort to repair and resurface 3.5 miles of Kelly Drive between 25th Street and Hunting Park Avenue and the Kelly Drive ramp to Ridge Avenue. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in late June.

In both cases, motorists are advised to allow extra travel time when traveling through work areas — backups and delays will occur.
