You Can Get Free Wawa Coffee on Thursday

It's Wawa Day – the company is celebrating its 53rd anniversary.

This week is shaping up to be a pretty good one.

Why? First, the warm weather brought a sort of early summer to Philly yesterday, and the balmy temperatures are supposed to stick around all week. And now – news that’s just as likely to bring a smile to your face – Wawa will give out free coffee on Thursday.

In celebration of its 53rd anniversary, the company will hand out cups of any size. And while you might not be happy with Wawa hoagies, we can all get behind free coffee.

“Wawa Day provides us with a chance to connect with and honor the millions of customers we’ve served over the past 53 years who have been so integral to Wawa’s growth over that time,” Wawa President and CEO Chris Gheysens said in a press release. “It’s always exciting to celebrate our customers, associates and communities by giving away one of our most beloved products, Wawa coffee!”

Wawa is also celebrating a milestone with the three-year-old Wawa Foundation, a non-profit organization through which the company aims to donate $50 million to “causes supporting health, hunger and every day heroes by 2018,” according to a press release.

The company expects to give out two million cups of coffee at its more than 750 stores across six states. It would be the most coffee given away by the company to date.
