The massive crash involving ten cars happened this morning around 11 a.m. on the Schuylkill Expressway westbound, police say. The I-76 travel lanes heading westbound were shut down due to the pileup along the Conshohocken Curve. At least five people sustained injuries in the crash — shockingly, none of which were life-threatening.

Footage from ABC Chopper 6 shows the vehicles askew on the road, blocking both lanes of traffic and bringing westbound flow to a complete standstill. At least ten cars were involved in the crash, including one pickup truck that flipped onto its side and a tractor trailer. Eastbound traffic on the Schuylkill Expressway was narrowed to one passing lane, as emergency response teams arrived at the scene. Traffic was blocked for nearly two hours.

6ABC reports that several people involved in the accent were taken to the hospital on stretchers, but there have been no accounts of any severe injuries at this time.

The crash scene was cleared by 1 p.m., and the cause of the major accident is still unclear at this time.
