Police: Woman Shoots and Kills Ex-Husband Less Than an Hour After Cops Left the Home

A cop showed up earlier while the ex-husband removed his belongings from the home.

On Sunday afternoon, 67-year-old Chien-Kuo Lin of North Wales called the local police, requesting an officer’s presence while he removed his belongings from the home of his ex-wife, Hsiu-Chin Lin. A North Wales cop showed up, remaining at the home for about 30 minutes. Soon after the cop left, police were called to the house once again, but this time for a much more serious matter.

Investigators say that Hsiu-Chin Lin, 63, shot and killed her ex-husband shortly after the police officer left the house. She has been charged with first-degree murder.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, Lin was sitting at the kitchen table when police returned to the house. In front of her: a black Smith and Wesson .38-caliber revolver. The couple’s son then directed the cops to the garage, where the ex-husband was found dead.

Police say that the son told them that his mother came downstairs with the gun, asking him, “Do you want me to kill your dad?” and “You won’t blame me if I kill your dad, right?” The son told police that his mother then called his sister, Debbie Lin, and told her repeatedly that she was going to kill the children’s father.

Prosecutors say that Lin then found the father and shot him repeatedly. The son reportedly told cops that he heard three shots and then saw his mother walking into the house with the gun, telling him what she had done and to call 911.

According to the affidavit, a neighbor told police that he had seen the couple arguing earlier in the day outside and that Lin was holding a golf club in one hand and a hammer in the other while she was yelling at her ex. Investigators say that Lin had been observed test firing the gun earlier in the week in the backyard of the home.

Lin was denied bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 1st.
