Wawa Robbed By Man With Giant “Rambo-Type” Knife

Police say the man fled into a wooded area that leads to Bensalem Township. Thankfully, no one was injured.

The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a man who walked into a Wawa store with a large knife and walked out with a plastic Wawa bag full of money.

Police say the incident occurred at 3:43 a.m. on December 15th. The man seen in the photo walked into the Wawa at 10550 Knights Road in Northeast Philadelphia and brandished a knife that a store employee described to police as a “large Rambo-type knife.”

Here’s a closer shot of the knife in question:

Naturally, the employee was inclined to give the man what he wanted. According to police, the man fled into a wooded area that leads to Bensalem Township. The Wawa sits on the outer edge of Philadelphia, just steps from Bucks County.

The suspect is described by police as follows: “White male, 5’8″-5’9″, 150-160 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt turned inside out, black pants, black boots, sunglasses, and armed with a large knife.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-3153 or submit an anonymous tip via 215-686-TIPS.
