Friday night was a more chaotic one than normal on the 300 block of South Street in Philadelphia thanks to a shooting outside the TLA music venue there. And now, police say they have their man.

Police have arrested 28-year-old Tylee Wilbur of West Philadelphia for the shooting, which left 25-year-old John Green — also of West Philadelphia (the men lived about a half a mile apart) — dead. The attack occurred just after 8:10 p.m. on Friday night as fans awaited a performance by a rapper named Lil’ Durk.

Lil’ Durk’s appearance was canceled, and the rapper took to Instagram to address apparent rumors that his tour bus had been shot, writing, “They said tour bus got shot up and one of us got shot we all good we on the way to next city Pittsburgh we on the way…”

Wilbur was sentenced to prison on a drug charge in 2005, and earlier this year, he was found guilty of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Wilbur has been charged with murder as well as firearms offenses. His bail was denied, and he is sitting inside the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility awaiting a preliminary hearing on September 22nd. Police say that they have “positively identified” Wilbur as the shooter.
