After that? Severe storms with wind and hail across the region.

Prepare yourselves: It’s shaping up to be a uniquely wacky weather day in Philly — and kind of dangerous to boot.

We’ll start with heat — a lot of it. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, warning residents of the region to wear light clothing, reduce outdoor work, drink plenty of fluids, and stay in air conditioning if at all possible.

Temps should hit the mid- to upper-90s.

So why’d we say “wacky?” Because the heat’s not just going to quietly slink away: We could be in some big, bad thunderstorms today.

” Severe storms are possible across the region, primarily in the afternoon to early evening hours just ahead of a cold front that is due to arrive,” the NWS at Mount Holly said in a Facebook post this morning. “The primary hazard will be strong winds, but some hail is possible as well.”

One more thing: If you’re headed to the shore today, NWS wants you to be aware of possible rip currents.

Good luck!
