City Controller Alan Butkovitz has once again made Philly safe for Thanksgiving, releasing his annual report on the cost of a holiday meal in the city. His conclusion? You pay $3 less in Philly — thanks largely to the cheap turkeys we get here.

His office says: “The City Controller’s Thanksgiving cost analysis was conducted by averaging the retail prices of food items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal from various grocery stores within the City of Philadelphia. The local prices were compared to the national averages as reported by the American Farm Bureau Federation.”

All of that is information that makes us thankful for the city controller’s office. Right?
