To mark the return of Boys of Summer this weekend we've chosen a handful of our 2014 lifeguards. Keep in mind that these guys are more than just an army of hard chests and ripped abs. They are lawyers, doctors, volunteers—folks working to make the community better. And, hey, they just so happen to look amazing in a Speedo. For more information about our weekend-long itinerary of Boys of Summer events, go here. But first, ogle our picks for Man Crush Monday:
Marcous is a new lifeguard this year after having gone to Boys of Summer for the first time last year. He’s sweet, funny and has a chest you can’t miss. He’s planning on getting his PhD in social psychology in the hopes of one day becoming a professor.
Brandon has an amazing smile and incredible hair. He spends most of his time doing vegan advocacy with the Humane League of Philadelphia, and recently had Meatless Mondays approved in the Philadelphia school district
Steven is coming all the way from Ohio with his boyfriend for the party—now that is dedication. Originally from Hawaii, he’s now an attorney.
Good things come in small packages. Dash may be shorter than most of the lifeguards, but he’s solid muscle from his time on the Temple Men's Gymnastics Team. Dash dedicates much of his time to volunteering—always willing to give back to his community— and he works with City Year helping local students achieve success.
This is Jovany's first Boys of Summer, as he just turned 21 last Thursday. He stays in amazing shape with judo and he’s currently on the Dean's List while getting his BS/MS in psychology. He intends to pursue his clinical doctorate in the near future.
Here are the rules: (1) Name five to 10 guys you’re crushing on, and tell us why they have your heart aflutter (2) You and all men involved have to be from Philadelphia (3) Email your crushes to jmiddleton@phillymag.com.
